  1. Froch

    Total Thrown: 935

    Total Connects: 155 (17%)

    64 out of 605 Jabs (11%)

    91 out of 335 Power Punches (27%)

    Kessler

    Total Thrown: 645

    Total Connects: 126 (19%)

    50 out of 379 Jabs (13%)

    76 out of 266 Power Punches (29%)

I've just spent the last 3 1/2 - 4 hours collating these stats. I watched the fight and counted each fighter 1 at a time pausing when necessary(which was a lot). I did not count punches that I wasn't sure landed. My view is that Froch won the fight and these stats back that up (i was unbiased in collating them). The round by round stats also back this up (can print if wanted). All those posters who are saying that it was a close but clear win for Kessler are chatting BS. It was anything but clear. Just because something is the received wisdom does not necessarily make it so.

Here are the round by round connects, number shown is the total with jabs in brackets:

    Froch Kessler

    1. 10 (7) 4 (3)
    2. 10 (9) 6 (3)
    3. 8 (4) 10 (9)
    4. 13 (7) 6 (2)
    5. 13 (4) 14 (6)
    6. 12 (5) 11 (6)
    7. 8 (4) 12 (6)
    8. 7 (3) 12 (4)
    9. 13 (5) 7 (2)
    10. 11 (6) 14 (4)
    11. 25 (6) 13 (2)
    12. 25 (4) 17 (3)

**** off did Froch throw 600 jabs in the fight....if you just spent 4 hours doing this then I have no idea what you saw...my guess is you made them up.

Post the round by round stats

Just rewatched the fight due to a thread on GF.

I scored it again and found Froch to be my winner by 115-113.

It's what you like, I preferred the harder and well timed shots of Froch.

On side note i was really happy with his defense in this fight. Taking shots on shoulders and rolling under and coming back with his own artillery.

Good performance and a positive that he and i and us all know he can fight better.

  5. First round: 48 jabs, 11 power shots
Second round: 77 jabs, 15 power shots
Third round: 54 jabs, 25 power shots
    4th: 60 jabs, 19 power shots
    5th: 55 jabs, 26 power shots
    6th: 49 jabs, 23 power shots
    7th: 50 jabs, 26 power shots
    8th: 47&21
    9th:49&32
    10th:47&33
    11th:39&45
    12th:30&60

See above muppet. You've probably got better things to do than count punches all evening, but I don't so, until you are as sad as me, **** off.. don't mean to be rude but this took ages, didn't realise how long it would take and was getting very bored by the end.

The numbers of punches thrown in those stats seem more realistic than what you've come up with. Froch nearly 1000?

Kessler landing 2 or 3 jabs several rounds doesn't tally with my memory either, Kessler landed the jab to the head/ chest quite often.

  10. Well they are totally wrong.

I rewatch the fight tomorrow but I'm pretty sure (at the very least) your figures below for Kesslers jabs are incorrect.

Round by round connects (jabs are in brackets):

    Froch Kessler
    1 10 (7) 4 (3)
    2 10 (9) 6 (3)
    3 8 (4) 10 (9)
    4 13 (7) 6 (2)
    5 13 (4) 14 (6)
    6 12 (5) 11 (6)
    7 8 (4) 12 (6)
    8 7 (3) 12 (4)
    9 13 (5) 7 (2)
    10 11 (6) 14 (4)
    11 25 (6) 13 (2)
    12 25 (4) 17 (3)

If this is correct then Kessler was the most efficient fighter. Wasting fewer punches. You can dictate a fight like that with some well timed shots.

Doesn't really surprise me. I thought Froch won the fight.

Are you ****ing daft?? The dude clearly is on windup mission. Kessler threw more shots than Froch and Froch fought in spurts.

You don't need to ****ing count the shots to see Kessler was the busier fighter.

Geez... The general forum is turning into a ****ing troll penn :nut

Edit: Thought I was in the GF because this thread seems like it belongs there.
