Froch Rips Joe!

WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch has slammed Joe Calzaghe after Calzaghe announced his retirement from professional boxing. Speaking to Setanta Sports News, Froch said it was “a shame he’s not had a career defining fight…he’s got a good record but I’m not going to lose my mind and say ‘he’s Sugar Ray Leonard’ because he’s not. I said a few weeks ago that he should retire. He got put on his arse by 43-year-old and 40-year-old in his last two fights. I’m not stupid. Joe Calzaghe has been a great champion. He’s a warrior, he’s tough, he’s strong. He’s beaten everyone put in front of him. But, how old was Roy Jones Junior when he fought him? He was 40-years-old. Bernard Hopkins was 43. Roy Jones was at his best 15 years prior to when they fought.” Froch had unsuccessfully campaigned for years to fight Calzaghe during Joe’s long 168lb title reign.

 

He's not Sugar Ray Leonard but he dosen't need to be to beat Froch. Froch should simply let it go and make his own ****ing mark on the game.

 

Joe also had trouble with a tough determined Sakio Bika

i like froch, but statements like this are doing him no good in my eyes. let joe have his day.

I agree with Froch. I think some people in the UK are going over the top. Calzaghe is a good fighter with a decent record but Lennox Lewis is by far the best Fighter from Britain and their are probably others that would rank higher than JC.

 

It shows this guy has no class. Every man is entitled to their own opinions, buth this was not the time to do this.

Froch should stop whining about Calzaghe, very bitter comments. He should start thinking about his own career instead of being obsessed with Calzaghe's.
