    It's not delusional at all.:huh
Two agressive, powerfull fighters with questionable defences.
No. No chance of a knockout there.

Hey Imperial -- In my opinion there is a very clear dividing line between Taylor, Froch, and Pavlik, and it's called a jab. It's really that simple. Taylor could not miss Froch with his jabs, but Froch's jab was not impressive at all. We know what JT can do with a jab, and we know Pavlik bested him in the jabbing contest twice.

Pavlik's jab is every bit as good as Taylor's, but it usually comes with evil intentions behind it. We also know that agianst Pav an opponent can never really be sure if KP is going to turn the jab into a long left hook at the last instant. Only one person ever dealt with that effectively, and that was BHop. Carl Froch sure as hell ain't no BHop.

Within 2 rounds Kelly would have that double-jab/ right-hand going strong against Froch. (Taylor did not follow his jabs with rights hands nearly enough. We know KP would.) Mix in some long left hooks, some lead rights over the top of that low left, and some body work, and Froch would not finish on his feet.

I don't know. I see one potential problem with that. Just watched Sturm/Sato. Sturm was snapping Sato's head so far back that it wasn't there for the second side of a 1 - 2.

There's an article on The Sweet Science website about Sturm/Sato. They asked Sturm about Pavlik/Abraham, and Felix picked KP to win, and of course, said he wants Pav afterward.

Pav would win against Froch and so would AA...why? Froch can't trade punches with AA. I don't see anybody who can do that in MW/SMW. You got to have a defense to deal with AA's power, otherwise you're lost - even more in SMW where AA's punching power should be even more destructive.

Sturm yesterday was excellent btw. His jab is one of the best in the sports. If he would've more power in his right hand he probably would be the one to beat in MW. Well, he doesn't have much power in his right hand and his excellent jab wouldn't be enough to win against Pav or AA.

Must you **** on Froch on every thread here? You obviously lost an Avatar bet which automatically puts you in the anti-Froch camp, so most things you say are tinged with venom. Just relax!

Since when did thinking a fighter would lose a fight make you part of his hate club?

Saying Pavlik would eat Froch is hardly venomous. Styles make fights, and Pavlik beats the **** out of guys like Froch. Taylor could not miss Froch with a jab if he tried to. Pavlik's jab is every bit as good as Taylor's. He proved that twice. Against a guy with a low left, Pav always finds a home for the right hand within 2 rounds. KP would have the 1-2 working good in 2 rounds or less, and that would lead to Froch getting stopped in 6-8 rounds. He'd take a worse beating than Miranda did.

Well, it looked good against a guy that apparently didn't know he was allowed to avoid it. :patsch And people complain about Pavlik's defenses, which by the way, have all been mandatory until now. Mora still not signed or announced? I just bumped that thread hoping some local would have some insight.

Yes, Sato was not in Sturm's class and far too easy to hit...nevertheless Sturm's jab is very good - fast, accurate and powerful.

I'll take your opinion on that. I haven't seen a lot of Sturm and usually against poor competition. THAT could come back to bite him big time too. Billy Lyell credits his win over John Duddy to having faced better competition than Duddy. This is one reason I don't get too upset over Pavlik losing to Bhop at 170. Not a lot of folks at 160 to keep him sharp. Finally looks like Pavlik/Abraham will get done in November and Sturm 'claims' to want Pavlik after that since he believes Pavlik will win.

Froch's defense is so poor I can see AA landing 50-60% against him. However, there is one thing I think Pavlik and Froch do have in common; you better stay off the ropes. That habit will be Arthur's undoing at some point in the future.

Maybe Billy can get a fight with Sturm, but then, maybe beating Duddy gives Lyell to much credibility for Sturms liking.
