    turpin stops fullmer.fullmers mauling style is nullified by turpin being stronger, plus the licker punched harder and can outbox fullmer

    at his best in 50/51 he was the hardest punching middle in the world and was the precursor to nigel benn.

    fullmer would force him back and turpin never liked to fight with the ropes at his back well according to freddie mills anyway

    if we dont put some wins together over the next few weeks the toilet may well be flushed

    freddie mills, as my dad used to say, led with his face and probably thought any fighter who didn't love being punched was odd.

    my dad thought boxers like nel tarleton was great but there has been more of the face first fighters hasn't there ??

    talerton if he had had a punch to go with his skill level would of been very hard to beat

    yeah the bloke was a legend.there was a bloke who lived round the corner from us when i was a kid and my dad said he fought exactly like the great nella.he was about the same age and weight too.

    Fullmer in a messy decision. Not a pretty fight by any means, but Gene succeeds in keeping Randy on the ropes for much of it.
