    What's next for Guzman then?

I think he should now campaign at 140. Hell, he should be in the WW with that 144 weigh-in cheat.

Can he even make 140? If he can, my respect for him drops further. He must have known he was not going to make 135 and therefore made no attempt to cut any weight.

He wants to fight Maidana next.

That would be a good fight but if Maidana has any sense he'll put some severe penalties in the contract if Guzman comes in over 140. All of his future opponents should do this.

I think he should do that, put a penalty for any lb over 140.

Would be an interesting, exciting fight. Hope this happens this year.

Funeka just can't catch a break in the US. On the bright side, Gary Shaw said that after the weigh-in, HBO called him and said that if Funeka lost they wouldn't hold it against him - they would treat him as if the fight never happened. At least he'll get more chances on HBO - his luck has to change eventually.

If the proposed Guzman-Maidana fight happens, I think Maidana should stipulate something like, for every pound over 140 Guzman weighs, he loses 20% of his purse. Something that makes Guzman think twice before he decides not to bother making weight.
