yep ... they approve Kofi bwakabama 3-0 for a commonwealth title fight but not former world champ Botha. Seems a bit silly maybe there's more to it.

Good... Botha was KO'd by Evander Holyfield last year and should not be allowed to face Fury.

Surely Botha's better than anyone Fury's ever fought though ?

Botha circa 12 years ago, yes...

Botha circa 2011? No. McDermott is.

I don't know about that. Maybe.

The BBBofC have sanctioned loads of crappy fighters to fight Fury, who in truth isn't much good himself.
I doubt they're gonna make him fight a world top 20 fighter. It's a strange decision.

Even the Botha who fought Holyfield looks in better shape than the lardarse that is John Mcdermott.

He may have looked in good condition but he was shot to **** to be honest.. Bad condition or not, McDermott was a live fighter.

Could have been an interesting fight even if Botha is well past his prime

Probably end up with a club fighter now which is shame. Fury looks like hes had some decent tests in the US i want to see what improvement there has been

Good. There should be fewer fights where shot old men are thrown to the lions like this

    Seems odd to me...

They've sanctioned much worse fighters to fight, and more overmatched opponents, Audley Haye was sanctioned for gods sake.

Audley was European Champion and a former Olympic gold medalist... Hardly compares to a fat and shot 42 year old being denied a fight...

A "shot" Botha is still a few levels above what Fury is used to.
