Let's say Fury steps in a time machine to avenge his namesake. Douglas is in shape and keeps the same form he had in Tokyo and defends his title against the bizarre chunky Brit who keeps calling him a dosser.

    12 rounds.

    Who comes out on top?

I think the biggest challenges for Fury would be Douglas' heavy accurate jab, combinations, and fierce uppercuts. Prime Douglas was firing on all cylinders and a sight to behold. On the flip side, Fury would present a major challenge with his herky jerky movements, his ability to switch stances, and his massive weight and rough house tactics in the clinches.

I would go with Buster. Too mobile, and elusive. I just see Fury taking too many right hands

This would be a good fight. Douglas doesnt have the 1 punch KO power of Wilder, but he does throw hard thudding shots consistently in combinations. His ring IQ is better than Wilder, a lot better. And we are matching Fury with the version of Douglas whose biggest weaknesses (will/heart & conditioning) are non-factors. Douglas isn't going to stand there and get rough housed like Wilder either, Buster had a mean streak when guys tried to bully him.

This would be a really tough fight, Douglas was a machine that night that had the engine to go a full 12. Fury can adapt to situations pretty well though and hes no slouch in the boxing and cardio departments. I'd probably go with Fury in a razor close decision but I wouldn't bet money on it

If that version of Douglas shows up, Buster wins.

Because he beat a 5'11 swarmer who was not in good shape, he beats 6'9 270lber. Classic at its finest. Delusional.

I doubt Fury would be taking, "too many right hands". His defense is very good (e.g. head movement, feints, etc.) for as big as he is. Buster also have to be careful because Fury has decent power and is usually in range to counter if Buster misses.

I have to go with Fury in this match up. Fury's Adaptable style makes him a much different opponent than Mike Tyson. The Douglas style plays right into Fury's hands. Fury would stop any version of Douglas, IMHO.
