Without knowing the man personally he comes across a right *****. John Murray called him a c*** of a man many a time and said he didn't know the meaning of loyalty. Which is quite ironic given his well publicised love of dogs!!
Him and Murray were never on good terms. Joe went public on blaming Murray’s beating at the hands of Rios (where he gave a good account but was undersized) on his indiscipline,citing him getting pissed up at the Macklin-Sturm show. Gallagher may not be popular but he is a hard nosed ******* and doesn’t care if he offends or how he gets results.He pressures refs,judges and promoters but to be fair to him he is always very supportive of his men,100% backs them to the hilt as manager and trainer.
Probably both to blame in there fall out to be honest , but Murray didn't help himself like you say when he got pissed up two weeks before the Mitchell fight. They actually fell out after that but Murray went back to him for the Rios fight then fell out again!
just reading through this again . Can imagine Gallagher hearing about this idea through the Smiths and thinking I fancy a bit of that but firstly this has been a long process months maybe years, what has Gallagher done kept a secret all this time and just broke the news the day of the opening of his new gym to the Smiths ?? Secondly there from two different areas ok it was Smiths idea so why have they not done anything about it and if they did/do it would surely be in Liverpool and Gallaghers in Manchester ? not that I'm doubting the story just seems a bit late in the day to fall out when this has been talked about for a while this academy thing .
The issue is they trusted Gallagher and told him what there plans were to open a gym for probably kids Gallagher then went and opened his own gym ( purely money grabbing) without telling them John Murray is bang on the mans a total ****
Can you really blame Gallagher for that its a free country, he had the finance to do it so its sounds like sour grapes Its not like he stole an invention he basically just took advantage of a goverment program, why wouldnt he ?

basically it's some academy thing where you train boxing and go to college for the rest of the day to gain some sort of qualification , not sure what exactly . So as Judge said he probably getting a shot load of funding by the local government for this new business venture!!
