I've been dreading coming on here since i've been arguing with Billy and Dunky to why i think Katsidis would of won. But what can you say, Burn's won that and put in a great performance, i had it a little closer than the scorecards had it, but the right man won the fight. Now Billy, what's next for Ricky? Mitchell is the obvious choice, but what are you wanting?
I assumed that katsidis would be too strong for Burns, but it turns out Burns was too skillful for Katsidis... I didn't appreciate Burn's defence either, great counterpunching. Humble pie being eaten my end.... Although I still defend that my opinion of the the 3 fight run VS a disabled, a starving African and an Illegal boxing Icelander where shocking defenses.
all of a sudden kats is a washed up fighter.makes me laugh.the reason kats landed on mitchell and not on burns is that burns is a far superior boxer.he ried everything humanly possible and put in a great effort to try to get the breakthrough but burns defence was really sound and his great array of counterpunches kept kats at bay.give ricky burns credit ,moving up a weight to fight a warrior,now that takes big cajones and burns balls are like coconuts
The more i think about this fight, the more credit im giving Billy. Katsidis does his best work in a dog fight, and is very good on counterpunching at short range. Burns threw almost nothing, when Katsidis was winging away at him, then waited for a lull and sidestepped out of there and went back to long range, and nearly always dug in a body shot. Katsidis just imagined if he banged and banged at the body the hands would come down, but in reality Ricky just braced himself, then sidestepped. IMO if he'd fired back at close quarters, he was in big trouble. When Katsidis went back to his corner they were trying to show him other ways round Rickys defence, but he was giving them a vacant look. Hes beaten every fighter hes faced other than the very best fighting the way he does. Ricky is in no way as good as the others who've beaten Katsidis, so enormous credit to Ricky and Billy for devising their strategy and sticking to it to the letter.

i went out on friday night & didnt get in til 2am this morning so i missed all the boxing. couldnt believe my eyes when i seen that ricky had beaten katsidis, absolutely amazing! as you know i thought kats would absolutely blow burns out the water, i think i said within 2 rounds. absolutely made up for the lad, proved alot of people wrong, me included. gunna settle down with a big fat scran and watch the fight tonight
