Gennady “GGG” Golovkin established himself as one of the most dominant middleweights ever through years of sustained championship control and elite consistency. He unified the middleweight titles and defended a world championship 21 straight times, breaking a long-standing divisional record.
He's been named the sole candidate to succeed Boris van der Vorst as president of World Boxing, with his appointment by acclamation set for November 23, 2025. Golovkin, once hailed as the best pound-for-pound boxer and an Olympic silver medalist, already serves as president of Kazakhstan's National Olympic Committee.

I have a feeling GGG wants to bring some respeck back onto boxing's name. Dunno what power he'll really yield but I hope it's significant. You can tell that GGG after the 2 Canelo debacles just washed his hands of boxing as a legitimate sport. Man on a mission. Boxing to be removed from the Olympics would be detrimental to the entire "sport" and an absolute afront to its history.
