The are the precious few among top boxers who became famous for a certain version of themselves in a certain fight. They hold rarified air, like one-name entertainers such as Cher, Madonna, Pink, Eminem, Bono and, of course, Charlo and Twiggy. We have: Montreal Duran Tokyo Douglas Yes, there are some references to specific versions of fighters for fantasy fight purposes (Manila or Zaire Ali, for instance) but those aren’t regularly referred to that way. So who else joins this Mapquest club for fighters? Help me out?

Yeah I had the ones known for a fight in a certain locality — to the point that we reference them as such — not where they’re from like Barbados Walcott or Tex Cobb, haha.
Actually I think the geo named fighters like Memphis Al Jones and Panama Al Brown would probably get you the most responses

The Alabama Kid — aka Clarence Reeves — was born in Georgia, fought out of Ohio and had a long stretch (perhaps the most important part of his career) in Australia. He had nearly 300 bouts from the late 1920s through 1950. I’ve never been able to figure out where the Alabama Kid name came from. I’m pretty sure he never even had a single fight in Alabama and haven’t ever seen an account that he ever lived there.
