Imagine if Prime George had the patience and polish that he had in the 90s. AND if he put his whole body behind his punches. He might have been unstoppable.

If his trainer knew the weight training was harming George his stamina instead of improving it, George would have been universally regarded as the best 70s fighter.

We could go on forever with this kind of hypothetical, though.

What if Muhammad Ali had a one shot kayo punch to go with his many other attributes ? We'd have had to stop insulting him with words like 'great' !

What if Mike Tyson had Evander Holyfield's self discipline and focus to go along with his natural talents ? And so on.

Man, he'd be so good, he could probably stop the only two guys to beat a meaningful version of Ali in less than two rounds a piece!

I still think he wouldn't be able to get over Ali, although it would be interesting to see Foreman with the stamina and mental strength of the older version.

I'll still go with my Willie Pep/George Foreman hybrid.

Stevie, good for the ordinary mortals of boxing that such a creature never existed.

It's not so hypothetical with Foreman though, because he showed both those sides (killer punch power and ring smarts) in his pre- and post-comeback career, just not together. It's not like inventing some wholly fictional attribute.

About the turning over his punches better, that is starting to enter the realm of the hypothetical, since he never showed that in either of his iterations. He turned over his shots better than people give him credit for, though. He was really launching himself into his shots against Ali. Not sure why people persist in calling him an arm puncher.
