I just read an article with George Groves saying Tony Oakey's a nice guy but can't fight.Well Mr Groves Oakey won the British,Commonwealth, WBU (WHEN IT WAS SOMETHING) and won prizefighter. For someone who has just one the commonwealth title and was very very lucky in your 1st defence to slag someone like Tony is a complete joke. In his interveiw on the net he claims his defence was good against Kenny Anderson i nearly pissed myself when i heard that lol. Im a very good freind of Tony's and the guy always fought guys bigger than him and he's got a heart the size of himself, something George will need to show against James Degale when he's getting outclassed. Imo George won't win anything further than Domestic titles has he's got a very poor defence.
What a ****ing dimlow atsch Why was he even mentioning Oakey? and prime Oakey would have no problems doing a number on him imo. As for his defence...not only against Anderson but the fight in U.S...it's non existent.
What a spanner. I've always liked Groves but he's letting himself down trying to talk smack, when his natural persona is just a shy kid.
a good fight for groves would be paul david, i think he would beat both him and degale, also the lad who won over david in prizefighter, he is delibratly being held back, for the benifit of them two, the lad who, name slips me needs to get some one to shove him forward.
you chat **** billy, just the other week you were saying burns would give juanma a good fight:rofl:rofl:rofl and now your saying groves wont make it past domestic, he has ALOT MORE TALENT then ANYBODY in your stable and thats a fact:yep:yep groves has started to shout his mouth off a bit recently, but if he ditches the "haye" fighting style he can go very far, degale will probly always be a class above george because he's a special talent.
I also like Tony Oakey and think he was a very good fighter, a force on the domestic scene to say te least, chin like granite and heart of a lion!! Hugely underrated IMHO... Doesn't really seem like George this?? Disrespecting good professionals?? Is it possible he's been mis quoted?? I mean why is he even talking about Tony?? The guy has been retired for months?? Strange one this??
Have you got a link to the article, Billy? I'm interested as to why he was talking about Oakey in the first place.
