I will be at the Fana fight, if it happens.

as for the next fight no chance, Foster is a better option

Anyone is a better option then Laryea, I would more rather see Appleby even after losing to Laryea.

I suggest you write that in a letter to newsnight because I can't think of anyone other than Paxman who's qualified to make a scathing enough remark.

He's just put out an apology on his website saying he was misquoted

    http://georgegroves.com/

I have to say, he's one of the nicest guys I've met in boxing and I didn't think he'd have said something like that. Some of the stick he's got recently is very harsh. Same with Tony Bellew and the stupid thread that's on here at the moment - we should be getting behind these guys not running them down!

    There we go then :)

It did seem an unlikely thing for him to say...

What do you say to that Billy? Is groves still not getting past domestic level?

Thanks for clearing that up, I agree we should be getting behind all our lads. Also I cannot help but hope Groves moves from Booth he is ****ing up Groves style and Booth is more and more turning into the Boxing Anti-Christ.

    Message to Tony Oakey

***I would like to apologise to Tony Oakey for my comments written in Fighting Fit magazine this month. Reading back what was written during my interview it clearly sounds like I am calling Tony Oakey personally a s*** fighter - which I wasn't. I have known Tony and members of his team for some time now and consider him a friend in the sport. I have high respect for him and would never intentionally try to disrespect him or upset or undermine him in any way. I am not in any postion to do that. The question I was asked was would I rather be a popular fighter or a world champion, and I gave the answer that I would rather be a popular fighter, a people's champion, than an unpopular more successful champion and gave Oakey as an example. The full answer I gave has been condensed to fit into a magazine article. During the question I moved away from the examples I gave and started talking more generally, and yes I did sum up my answer with "I would rather be a popular, s*** fighter", but at this time I was not talking of Oakey or had him or any other fighter in particular in mind. Again, Tony I hope you understand and I apologise for the way this answer has come across.***

Hope it's ok to post this:good

Any sane and mildly intelligent person could see what Groves meant anyway. It was fairly obvious he wasn't disrespecting Oakey or anyone else for that matter. Nelson's original post here has forced Groves to make an apology he didn't really need to make :huh

The thing about Groves in my eyes is, is that if they don't get someone to toughen him up or make him savvy sooner rather than later, if he gets an inside fighter who knows what they're doing and can rag Groves all over, he's in a shitload of trouble. Anderson was just throwing him around in their fight. He's torrid to watch when he's trying to defend. It's just so half assed.

He's definitely in the wrong camp in my eyes. Hayemaker is not for him, whatsoever.
