Wlad is from Ukraine. Golovkin from Kazakhstan, but Gennadiy Golovkin is a common name in Russia, but its not a secret that there are many russians in Kazachstan and they have soviet boxing school...

I discussed it with bpxing fans from Russia, many think that its not a big problem, of course he must hurry, but he was not in wars, never dropped and his style isnt based on speed. I think he has good 5 years or not even more...

Yeah, Wlad was only born in Kazakhstan (due to his dad being in the Soviet Air Forces.)

Also, generally, the higher the weight division, the later in life you can stay competitive (probably also based mostly on the diminishing importance of speed the higher up you go.)

    (I use too many parentheses.)

Wlad was born and spent his childhood in Semey, Kazakh SSR (Kazakhstan now). Vitaly was born in Kirghiz SSR (now Kyrgyzstan) and also spent his childhood in Semey (Kazakhstan).
There are about 3 million russians in Kazakhstan. 3% of Kazakhstan territory is in Europe, 97% is on Asian part. I always wondered why people say that Golovkin is the East European boxer. He's the Asian boxer, he took part in Asian games and Asian Championships. Golovkin is half Asian btw like Kostya Tszyu.
Nope, Kazakhstan has their own kazakh school of boxing with different training system.

I think its irrelevant where he was born, cause he spent his most important life period in Ukraine, his first language is ukrainian and his anthem is also ukrainian.

Ok, maybe his father is russian and mother - asian. Russian reporter asked him recently "are you russian or kazach", and he said "i want keep it as secret". I think he just didnt want to dissapoint his russian and kazach fans...

Never heard about kazach boxing school, but maybe you are right

He's got to be the least intimidating looking KO artists ever, looks about 12. I was watching the Simon fight with my ex and even she was like ''He's a boxer? But he looks really cute''
