I don't think Gennady is ducking Canelo, but I do believe he fears him a bit. He's knows Canelo is a blockbuster power-puncher. Canelo's punching reminds me of Rocky Marciano.
Apart from a Mayweather, McGregor or Pacquaio fight, Canelo is pretty much GGGs dream fight. GGG would fight Canelo every day of the week and twice on Sunday. He is clearly ducking Billy Joe though....... If Mayweather was 50 and dying of aids GGG would still fight him for the money
Golovkin never really lost rounds until 2017. I don't think he's afraid one bit as much as he is aware now. Likewise, he should be aware that 40% against Canelo now is more than 60% against non-Canelo for each of his next few fights. Both Golovkin and Canelo should badly want the fight. Their legacies yearn for it.
