Is there any point in third fight? Both are great fighters but I thought Golovkin won pretty clearly (116-112). Twice he was jobbed...would Canelo fight on neutral ground? If not what does the future hold for both?
3rd fight you would think would be close to a cash out for GGG. He will train and obviously aim to win. Biggest objective is the money surely. Can't see him stopping Canelo. Even less chance of a decision. He ain't getting any younger and is not making that income from anyone else.
I think it depends on whether Canelo would fight him next...rumours are that Canelo is going to fight Lemieux meaning that it could be next spring/summer before they met again. That surely favours the younger man more as GGG will be knocking on 37 by then. I want to see it though, they’re two of the best fighters in the world. GGG will be feeling hard done by.
I wouldn't mind seeing it again the 2nd fight was better than the second so hopefully the trend continues!
The first fight was turd and like most PPV fights, the 2nd was average at best. The only point of a 3rd fight is to fleece the PPV mugs yet again.
The first fight was good, the second fight was great. Only the judging was turd. To answer the OP, there will be a third fight because the second fight was highly entertaining and we'll all watch a third bout. Career-wise, it makes sense for both because no other fight puts up that kind of money for either. Sporting-wise, there isn't much point for Golovkin as people thought he won both bouts, and he won't be given the decision in a third. Saunders-Andrade winner probably a better route. For Canelo it makes sense because it's a chance to prove to everyone he can actually beat Golovkin. He could fight Andrade-Saunders winner too but it would be a hollow champ with Golovkin still around.
