Assuming it is at 160, and Gerrard was a massive hitter here, can be power through the iron jawed GGG? Or will GGG weather the storm and stop him late?

Golovkin breaks him down and stops him.

McClellan begins to tire and Golovkin goes through the gears, McClellan becomes more hittable and starts to take punishment from Golovkin, before the ref or corner jump in.

Guys, just look at how they fight. That will tell you all you need to know. McClellan loads up his shots and fires them like ICBMs. Golovkin is a boxer who just happens to hit freaking hard. He'd move away from those big nukes or slip them all night long. GGG would get moist at thinking of the countering opportunities Gerald would offer him. Yeah, McClellan is game. That just means his beating will be longer and harsher. Even Lemieux boxes better than G-Man and we all saw what Gennady did to him. Golovkin will not go toe to toe with him in a million years. He will take G-Man apart like a watch.

I think Lemieux hit hard but McClellan was bigger and harder hitting IMO. And more relentless. I do favour GGG but its a very very dangerous fight.

McClellan had 5 fights that went past 5 rounds and he was 2-3 in fights that went into the 2nd half of the fight.

So logic tells you unless McClellan bombed you out early he was very beatable if you extended him into the 2nd half of the fight.

Golovkin is a very durable and has the chin and skills to withstand McClellan's early storm and then get to him late on.

    Golovkin wins IMO.

No mythical fight is fair on McClellan though.

He got permanently damaged at 27 bang in his prime.
We never got to see him perform at his best vs several opponents for extended period to better gauge his position in history.
He was eroding without Manny Steward though, not physically but technically.
He evidently fell in love with his power too much.

McClellan shortens GGGs career, but GGG shortens McClellan's night.

It's debatable who hit harder. Sure, I see the case for Gerald. But Lemieux was a better boxer than McClellan and I'd be happy to defend that. I think power alone is not going to bother Golovkin, you need to have some skills to apply that power. It's always been like that. Otherwise guys like Cyclone Hart and Shavers would have dominated their eras.

GGG holds almost ever advantage. He was the better boxer, heavier puncher and had an iron chin. Gman was a great talent but he was pretty hittable which spells bad news against GGG and his deadly accuracy. GGG's chin is legendary on top of his offensive prowess.
