Why don’t the WBC take the title from Pavlik and leave him with emeritus status until he sorts himself out, We as fans have all year without a top meaningful Middleweight title. A division that looked good 12 months ago now looks dire.

Other then Williams, what fights did we miss because he couldn't fight? He doesn't hold all the belts, so I just don't see that your point is insightful.

A bit harsh, don't you think.

If he doesn't make a defence soon, he needs to take a sabattical, till he sorts out his health problems.

But he's still young and at or near the top of his division.

He has a number of potentially big fights in his future.

    Why should he retire ?

ignorant Hater .... I do like the Politician in your avatar though, you should act more logical -like him, not ignorant - like yourself.

Pavlik spent a lifetime working for that Belt, you try and tell him to give it up... he'll kill you.

Give the guy a break, he almost died and is recovering from a staph infection... he will be back...He is the one who brought back excitement into the MW division in the 1st place, so why dont you just give him a break.

First off,I am not a big Kelly Pavlik fan. However,I believe that he is a basically nice fellow and a tough, brave fighter, but he seems to have so many excuses not to fight. And he's still a young man.Perhaps he's finished. It would seem that way. However,Bernard Hopkins,a fighter that I respect far more than I do Pavlik, due to pretty much an excellent resume-although he has never beaten a great middleweight-is still generally in everyone's top 5 p4p list despite 2 facts:1.He's 4-3 in his last 7 fights.2.He hasn't fought since the PAVLIK fight.I know that he's in his 40s.And I know that he is DESERVEDLY a shoo-in for the BHOF,but why the **** is he still in mostly everyone's top 5 p4p list despite his inactivity? In my opinion,Pavlik should retire. He just doesn't seem to have the desire anymore. But Bernard lost 2 decisions to tough, brave and classy, but now seemingly perrenial punching bag for the supermiddleweights,Jermaine Taylor.I remember when Bernard kicked "Gentleman" Glencoffe Johnson's ass-being the only man ever to stop him. It's even a very big question when 40 something year old Bernard will ever fight again.Actually, the more important words here are "IF" and "WHY"?

I've explained this before, but let's try again. Who at middleweight would bring the ABC's as much money as Kelly? Even in 3 or 4 fights? When Pavlik has YOUR belt then you can call the tune. This isn't rocket science is it?

What's the difference, Zbik is already the interm champ.

No one talks about the possibility that Pavlik's career could possibly be over. Staph infections like MRSA, can sometimes be incurable and remain chronic for a lifetime. He might have future training camps that get interrupted by this condition.
