Got to admire this guy. At 41 he proved how good a fighter he still is and how well he uses his experience. I really enjoyed the fight and had it very close, with Johnson maybe just taking it. But it was so close that I can't argue with however the result went. What i liked most was how Johnson seemed to be so much more advanced than Cloud in their similar in fighting styles. Cloud's youth and speed won him some of the rounds but I thought i could see him learning and maturing even during the fight as his work got tidier and more effective later on. Cloud's last 2 fights vs two very good veterans will have done him no end of good from what he will have learnt. It would be nice to see Cleverly and Bellew put into these type of fights as well in the future cos I can see Cloud only getting better and better as a result of being in with johnson and woods. I'd like to see Glen retire now, he has nothing else to prove and will have gone out in a very dignified and competitive way
Yeah, big fan of Johnson. Looked after himself physically throughout his career and matured into a tough and technically very competent fighter.
He was the main man when he knocked out Jones. The guy was an animal back then but god ham he should retire now.
Glen Johnson has been robbed several times and he still keeps on coming. The fight should have been no less than a draw. Cloud will lose to Dawson. There is a cloud over Cloud's head now.
Not seen this fight yet, but I have the utmost admiration for Johnson regardless. A true warrior that has been in some great fights. Succesful in his own right but has equally proved himself in defeats such as this one (apparently) and certainly in the first fight with Dawson.
Reminds me I have to watch Cloud-Johnson yet. But I just rewatched Dawson-Johnson I and it helped me to remember what a brilliant fighter he is. He was 39 at the time of this fight but the non stop pressing he did for a man his age was remarkable. Its good to read he put on a good show against Cloud, amazing pro who still deserves a few paydays yet. How about sticking Cleverly in with him next year :hey
It was a pity that Johnson vs Calzaghe never happened, he would have been a decent addition to Joe's resume.
He is a very good fighter who really loves what he does.He is still doing well in fights and in good shape.Cant see him hanging them up just yet.
