NDNJ has the style with his fleet footwork to make GG look ponderous. Problem is, he can be and has been hit, and when he does, the signs are he doesn't hold a shot. That Armenian chap had him rocking a wee bit and he had a non-punching record.
And Lorenzo had him wobbled badly and falling out of the ring, although Lorenzo hasn't won a fight by decision since 2005, so I suppose he's a bit of a puncher. I do think that Golovkin could hit harder than Lorenzo, though.
Watched the fight just now. Even in Golovkin's last 2 fights where he blasted them out early doors i seen things that worry me and watching last night's fight it seems that under Abel Sanchez, Golovkin has totally abandoned his pure boxing ability which he has in spades. Under Magomed Schaburrow when he was promoted by Universum, he boxed with great poise and had a solid jab and like Tzsyu, very fleet of foot, great balance and timing and kept his hands up instead of this ducking under stuff. Under Sanchez, Golovkin has turned into a wrecking ball and is not boxing at all. Such a shame.
Thats a pretty apt description of this fight. Completely abandoned what skills he does have. I laughed at times, the way he was boaring in. Shocking stuff.
Exactly, i think if he stays with Sanchez he is going nowhere fast. Its amazing that he stops a durable guy like Ouma and its Golovkin that is getting ripped, reason being he has so much pure ability that he is just not using. Id say something if it was just this fight but he looked sloppy against Nunez and Tapia and terrible last night, all since has switched his training up to Big Bear with Sanchez. Sauerland and Universum operate a different system than other promoters, trainers are tied down to the promoter so Schaburrow can't train Golovkin again i guess. People will say its about levels and that Ouma was a huge step up, maybe so, but Golovkin under Schaburrow was very impressive. Had power but didn't wade in, he looked excellent technically. Looks awful now.
