Losing the fight, against the bigger stronger puncher, and he's trading with him. Whatever happens, it's been a pleasure.
Penalosa showed me that JuanMa has been overhyped by some of the fans on this board. He has great technique sometimes, but he fights in a straight line, looks very susceptible to the uppercut because when he gets inside he bends his head down. He defense is questionable he was getting cleanly tagged by Penalosa, makes me wonder what would happen if he fought a person in his true weight class.
That was a lot to ask from Freddie Roach though, "Knock 'eem out in this round or I'm stopping the fight." I mean come on, had he went out there and exchanged better with Lopez, that would've been enough, huh?
Same here. Just going into the jaws of the lion. Penalosa should go home feeling like a winner tonight.
Roach was wise to stop it. Penalosa may be tough, but when you are getting hit like that and you know the other fighter isnt going to let up and you have NO chance of winning other than some miracle punch, there is no reason to let your fighter take punishment.
