Great fight. If only he could have fought this way against Ngannou. Credit to tai as well hes a tough SOB!
That was incredible. By far the most aesthetically pleasing style I’ve seen in an MMA heavyweight. He’s a beast. But even then he almost got put out by a one dimensional puncher. I like him more than Ngannou’s sloppy ass. Ngannou is exciting but I prefer Gane’s style. Great jab, repertoire, and cardio.
Gane is such a vicious beast. He could have easily taken an easy opponent to sit out the time until Ngannou is either ready for a rematch or gets stripped but he took the Tuivasa fight, got rocked and dropped bad, came back and beat the crap out of Tai and his body. What an insane fighter. Gane is the real deal. He'll rule the HWD for a long long time.
I expected it to be a fairly boring UD win for Gane but yeah in a way this was actually more impressive because he showed heart, durability and composure to survive that and then get the finish. Good fight IQ as well with the body kicks.
He had to fight that because he got floored, his kicks only worked because of that flabby Ruiz type build.
Beautiful performance. If his TDD has improved he can absolutely beat Ngannou, problem is, if Francis lands the same grazing shot Tai did, its going to be a short night.
