In the 15th and final round of a fight who were the greatest? Not who was the best over 15 rounds, but who came out and gave the best performances in the final round of the bout?

Pedroza springs to mind. But that is just off the top of my head and might be combining 13-15 and it sounds like you are looking solely at round 15 and not the 13-15 range?

I suppose that will be the next thread. Pedroza is a good pick too.

Pedroza and Sanchez both tended to accelerate in the championship rounds. If I had to split them, I'd say Pedroza tended to be better in the 13th and Sanchez better in the final frame (he dropped Cowdell and stopped Nelson).

Yeah I went with Pedroza off the top of my head, but Sanchez and Arguello both popped into mind as well. But I didn’t go back to review anybody’s 15th round history

Alexis Arguello was the master of making half time adjustments

LaMotta was a great one to play possum and come on at the end of a round. His title defense against Dauthuille must rank as the equal or better of any 15th-round comeback in history. Another film example is the 10th-and-final round of his second fight against Bob Murphy when he had the red-head on the verge of a knockout in the fight's last seconds. These last-minute surges of LaMotta were obviously a studied and integral part of his fighting persona.

Saldivar's stamina was arguably better than Sanchez and Pedroza.
