    Of those listed, I went with McGuigan but Quarry and Conn should have made the list IMO.

    There's a case for saying that Muhammad Ali was the greatest in THIS dept. also. He was one eighth Irish.

    Hi Burt. From what I understand Tommy Ryan (real name Joseph Youngs) was French and English, not Irish though he adopted the Celtic surname as per the popular practice of the times.

    Exactly. I heard the same went for Kid McCoy(nee Norman Selby), who was I believe English. But I've also heard that he may have had an Irish grandparent. Hard to say.
