Hey guys. I'm new to boxing, and so far, the fights I like most are the slugfests where two good fighters trade bombs. Don't get me wrong though; watching a one sided massacre such as mayweather/gatti is more disturbing than it is exciting. I'm just looking for recommendations for fights to buy on DVD. I've seen hagler/hearns, pavlik/miranda, pacman/solis, and most of the holyfield fights. What are the greatest slugfests of all time that I should see?
George Foreman vs. Ron Lyle Marco Antonio Barrera vs. Erik Morales Trilogy Jose Luis Castillo vs. Diego Corrales I and II David Tua vs. Ike Ibeabuchi Sugar Ray Leonard vs. Thomas Hearns I Sugar Ray Leonard vs. Roberto Duran I Paulie Ayala vs. Johnny Tapia I and II Israel Vazquez vs. Jhonny Gonzalez Matthew Saad Muhammad vs. Marvin Johnson Bobby Chacon Fights Gatti-Ward Trilogy Ali-Frazier trilogy All fights that are fun to watch and should be a part of everybody's DVD collection
Get everything that brooklyn 1550 mentioned. Also Erik Morales vs Manny Pacquiao trilogy Israel Vasquez vs Rafael Marques Juan Manuel Marquez vs Manny Pacqauio Evander Holyfield vs Dwight Mahumaed Qwai Felix Trinidad vs Fernando Vargas
Graham Earle v Mike Katsidis Alex Arthur v Michael Gomez Barrera v Morales 1 and 3 Lennox Lewis v Shannon Briggs Marvin Hagler v Thomas Hearns
For a Heavyweight fight you need, scratch that, must see David Tua and Ike Ibeabuchi go at it. Most punches thrown in a heavyweight fight, even counting back when they went 15 rounds. Absolutely incredible chins on the both of them.
wanna see real huge bombs? then go watch vitali klitschko vs lennox lewis. don't miss the moment when klit's head snapped back to the ceiling after the most powerful uppercut in boxing history and klit still standing.
Ward-Augustus (Burton) One of the best fights ever on ESPN and definitely one of my favourite slugfests.
