I couldnt even get through Paxtons book. I didnt like it. Nothing about the Greb outside the ring. Just a collection of news paper accounts of his fights.
I'm currently reading a book about Charlie Burley by Allen Rosenfield. It's over 600 pages and I'm finding it highly enjoyable. But it has a ton of info about other fighters also. I'm not so much into the round by round, punch by punch accounts of a guy's career. I guess my imagination isn't that vivid. I enjoy hearing most about training camps and training techniques. I'm curious as hell as to the contents of Klompton's book but I suspect it will be pricey. He definitely knows his stuff, and although he seems to be quite a prickly character I have to admit I probably will own the book (one way or another, ideally as a gift).
I recently contacted Klompton about the book on a different site. Here is what he had to say. The Greb book is going really good. Thank you for asking. Im almost finished with it and I just got an editor on Monday. Im really hoping to be done with it by the end of the year, which is very doable at the rate things are going.
Nice to know the writing is going well. I was wondering about this book a few weeks ago. Writing is always longer than expected, when references are needed.

I've trawled through every contemporary ringside report on Greb's bowel movements - primary sources ! - and cannot find a single sentence contradicting the claims that his sh!t was indeed odourless. In fact, to the contrary, numerous reports expressly remark on the stench-less qualities of Greb's sh!t - something he retained until the end of his career. If anyone can be bothered to do the legwork, consult the primary sources, the local papers, not the wire reports, I'm sure they will come to the same conclusion. Greb's sh!t did not stink.
