If this fight took place now who would win and why? I know there are a couple of threads on this but it seems relatively split so wanted to see what the results of a poll would be. Let's say it was a 10 rounder. Personally I fancy groves. He puts a lot more into his punches, works the body well, and seems more intelligent in the ring, doesn't just go looking for knockouts straightaway. Degale does a lot of slapping and poncing about trying to show off and I just fancy Groves to really make him uncomfortable where that isn't going to suffice and fancy groves to grind him down with devastating body shots and depending on how tough degale really is either decisioning him or stopping him late. I do think a fight like this would bring out the best in Degale but this isn't the amateurs... So what do you reckon?
I'd fancy Groves but its so hard to tell when both guys are so new to the pro game. I reckon Billy J Saunders is the best of the bunch anyhow lol(olympians)
This is my belief too. However, his performances to date have been patchy to say the least, and he has to remove that slapping tendency pretty soon. I've still gotta think, from some positive glimpses that have shone through in his fights, that he would up his game and take Groves via UD.
It is no walkover for either guy. I pick Groves to win a close decision based on the fact he seems more adapted to the pro game at this stage.
