I live in central New Jersey and want to start going to a boxing gym. Anyone know much about New Jersey gyms in the area. Thanks.

Theres a gym in New Brunswick...also one in Brick I think. Believe Perth Amboy has one too. Theres a site i think called boxinggyms.net that lists all boxing gyms for every state, check it out.

The Brick PAL is a really good program from what I hear. Where in Central Jersey are we talking about? I've worked out at the Howell PAL in the past; I don't think they're doing much these days though.

Central Jersey I'd say is pretty much Monmouth, Middlesex and Mercer counties and part of Ocean county. I'm surprised you heard of Brick PAL didn't realize they were well known nationally. Howell is in Monmouth County also, didn't know they had a gym there.

In North Jersey you'll find a ton of boxing gyms. Newark, Paterson, Jersey City etc...

God, I despised living in New Jersey. It actually went NJ-Maryland (where I lived most of my time) and then to Montana 2 years ago. The Howell PAL was ok, small gym but there were some good guys there, it was a boxing gym and then had a weight room in the next room over; had a little 14 foot ring. Like I said, I don't even know if they're open anymore; but I have heard really good things about Brick PAL's set up.
