Joe Calzaghe is one of the best H2H fighters in history. Riiiight... Beating Kessler, Lacy, and a version of Hopkins that was so far past his prime that he'd already lost twice on the cards to Jermain Taylor, this proves he was one of the best H2H fighters in history. Good God man.

The best H2H fighters in history are guys like Jones Jr at 168, Pernell Whitaker and Roberto Duran at 135, Ray Leonard at 147, Ray Robinson at 147, Ricardo Lopez at 106, even Wilfredo Gomez at 122 and Evander Holyfield at 190. These guys showed the necessary well-roundedness to suggest that at their best weight classes, they could wipe out most of the best fighters ever there. Joe Calzaghe did not have anywhere near this level of technical brilliance. He would've got picked apart and beaten comprehensively by the right fighter.

Hmmm. He's really not worded/presented it very well then IMO. It would've been much easier and clearer just to have an opening post stating "Best h2h fighters ever".

I hate Calzaghe, but the TS is right and youre wrong or at least youre taking it out of context. H2H Calzaghe is an absoulute nightmare for anyone.

I think FMJ is another H2H nightmare

FMJ is an H2H nightmare because his style would be problematic for pretty much any other style. You're wrong about Calzaghe as is the TS, because Calzaghe's style was tailor-made for a certain type of fighter, as I explained earlier in this thread. Calzaghe was far too technically-deficient to be considered an H2H nightmare in the way that guys like Hearns and Whitaker were.

so it's explicitly stated that this thread is about guys who are h2h nightmares based on intangibles & "regardless of resumes" & you have decided to argue about resumes?

    :patsch

Name me one fighter from 160-175 who can beat Ward or a prime Calzaghe?
Hopkins is the only fighter i believe would have a chance against Ward.

Prime RJJ is a H2H monster..
But if we look at the current 160-175 divisions, who will beat Ward or a prime Calzaghe?
