No way! The drama with the cut, Hearns beating the count (amazing) and the referee stops the fight. It's a great fight. Welcome buddy.
The first round was classic, it was a terrific fight, but honestly, I've seen a lot of fights that were better. They may have not been the event with the build-up of Hagler-Hearns, but taking away that and just looking at the fight itself, the list of better fights isn't short.
But with the pedigree of the fighters- I cannot think of a first rd between two legendary boxers like this
Awesome fight, two proud warriors, marv took it to the alley & tommy engaged. I remember marv saying he had to make his offense his best defense. Classic description of how he had to brawl with the hitman to win the fight, and he did it in style. They simply don't make fighters like this anymore. Marv would have destroyed every middleweight since his reign with maybe the exclusion of a 160lb roy jones jnr. Destruct & Destroy!!
