Stevenson is made the mandatory for Haney’s WBC belt. Who is going to win? Or will Haney move up to 140 lbs?
Duck move by Haney if he decides to move up. He and Shakur have some unfinished business and it would be another great match up that needs to happen while they’re both still young and fresh.
If Haney can still make the weight I would like him to stay at 135 and fight Stevenson. If he wins that one then Davis at 135. If he wins both he will have cleaned out the division. There are not many that have unified a division. Even fewer who have cleaned out a division. It’s fashionable to jump up and collect belts in different weight classes. But legacy wise I think it’s much more impressive if he can really put his foot on the neck of the 135 division. Especially with the caliber of fighters at 135. He can always move up in weight afterwards.
I think eventually he will get to him or even call Shakur up in weight after but just goes to show when you don't end up lookin great while most admitting you lost that your trash talk & confidence entirely dips internally, Just imagine if he got Lomachenko fight at that time he "supposedly" was calling for he wouldn't even be perceived how he is currently by his own fans that would have forgot him after a loss, Haney should thanks his lucky stars.
Stevenson UD12. I don't think Haney really wants to fight Shakur. I don't think anyone really wants to fight Shakur and won't unless backed into a corner
Haney goes for Prog' and Taylor likely. Better leave the division with a question mark and gift over old Lomachenko, than give clear answers to troubling questions. Would be good to finally see a settled champ at 135 tho.
