He did an excellent job and, in this era of referee stoppages almost always being complained about as either too early or too late, I thought his timing was perfect.

Some lack the athleticism or the sharp decision making needed to referee big boxing matches. Some even play favorites, some can lose control of fights and let fighters take unhealthy punishment. It can't be easy being a referee. The bad referees harm the wonderful sport of boxing and Mr Harvey Dock was absolutely magnificent in the job he did for this massive boxing match.
Like Fogger stated his timing for the stoppage was perfect and I thought he made strong commands and his judgement was respected by both fighters. Great night for boxing.

He's been a very good ref for a while.

Great stoppage but I probably would have stopped it in the 7th

He's probably the most consistent ref right now. The Joe Cortez of this era, fair but firm.

Harvey Dock, Michael Griffin (AJ/Ruiz 1), and Jack Reiss top 3 refs today in that order.
    Tony Weeks being the worst.

@PFPIsAMyth mentioned that he would have stopped the fight in round 7. I do believe Dock would have stopped it if the bell hadn't rung. I do appreciate when the ref gives the fighter the minute to recover before making a decision to stop the bout.

Also, there is a difference in when a ref should stop a fight and when a boxer's corner should throw in the towel. In a championship fight I understand that a corner wants to give their man every opportunity to recover and fight back. To be fair to his corner, Spence was still attacking and throwing punches right up to the stoppage. The reality is that the punches weren't bothering Bud and Errol did not have much more than a puncher's chances by round six. The fight could have been stopped between round seven and eight without Spence losing any honor or respect.

Nawwwww sometimes you got to give the corner man a chance to stop it first. I assumed D James was going to wave the flag but he was speechless and sent his guy right back into the war zone—D James needs a good slap

Joe Cortez hugged and kissed Floyd on the cheek in one of his fights...

My all time least favorite was Tony Perez. Seemed cocky and was terribly out of position in fights causing fighters to absorb additional punishment during stoppages.
