War babys a great book. I think someone on here said the other book had some shocking historical mistakes

It's worth watching the fight again before reading the book if you've not seen it in a while.

Jacobs beach was a real let down, factual errors aplenty and its subject matter veered all over the place. Little bit about the old Gardens, the actual Jacobs beach, then went off about Jim Norris Frankie Carbo and stuff I'd read a hundred times before, then went into a chapter about Don King.

Just wasn't the book I thought it was going to be, the review in this months BM is pretty spot on

War, Baby is good. Very accessible and doesn't moralise of wring hands.

BM review says that Jacobs Beach has got some factual errors but overall entertaining so I might invest or get the library to buy one on.
