Ummm....I got Whitaker in the top 15 fighters ever. I don't want to overreact, so I'm gonna say no. If he beats Cotto....

No not at all. He took the easiest challenge by fighting Hatton and even tought he looked impressive, he still got challengers to beat and one of them is Miguel Cotto who wont be an easy one. If he beats Cotto then he will be easily the greatest fighter of his generation.

Whitaker is 14th on my greatest fighters ever.

Mayweather is still just outside my top50.

So no definatly not, not even close.

Whitaker not only has a better resume, but would also win h2h against Floyd I think 8 or 9 times out of 10.

Both are great fighters, but Mayweather has a ways to go before his achievements are comparable to Whitaker.

No.. Just because they are equal in talent and skill but Pernells resume is great. McGirt was better tahn anyone Floyd has ever fough and Mcgirt isnt even the best Pernell has defeated

Trust me. If Whitaker was in there with Hatton he would never have allowed that physical wrestling. He would have kept his distance more often and peppered Hatton all night long.

Mayweather does have a great defense, but Whitaker's is better. Mayweather's gifted and blocks very well inside.

Yes I will finally admit he is the better fighter..and I love Sweet Pea too, one of my favorite fighters of all time. But I would be lying to myself to say PBF isnt better.

No, he is not better than Whitaker. Not at all, he beat a junior welterweight tonight, there are still a boat load of welters that he needs to fight, I think he beats all of them, but the fact remains that he hasn't fought them yet.

    not a chance.

    floyd is an ATG.

whitaker is in the elite of the elite group

sweet pea UD floyd still at this point.

floyd can close the ground though with wins over cotto and williams. still think williams would **** him up something bad though.

But the diffrence is that Mayweather stopped Hatton - closed the show - broke the man's will! Whitaker would have won, but on points. Sure Hatton would be frustrated but likely still raring to go. That's big in my book. Mayweather > Whitaker.
