not entirely true. ricky is faster and more explosive than cotto. and he's more relentless, while cotto is more about tactical pressure.
If often happens that a fighter who got beat by a considerably superior fighter (which is what just happened to Hatton) becomes himself a better fighter. Hatton by KO because, in contrat to Mayweather, Malignaggi wouldn't be able to even the score with Hatton fighting in the phone booth.
Also- When he wanted to- Paulie boxed circles around the great miguel cotto- Cotto is a much better BOXER than Hatton. If Paulie can fight his fight- see this going wide UD Malignaggi- If Hatton can lure Paulie into the same war cotto did- the win goes to hatton- but not by 12 rounds.

Corrales and Castillo both became great fighters after floyd beat them. I think Hatton at 140 could beat Paulie. Paulie's strong but he doesnt move enough laterally to offset Ricky.
