It seems as though the MGM Grand is WAY too small, could've sold it out twenty times over.

Why dont promotors do anything historic anymore like going to Africa (rumble in the Jungle) or Phillopines (Thrilla in Manilla) it all adds to the excitment of the occasion.

Seems to me that this is the perfect fight to bring boxing back bigtime and they could've gone for the live gate record or something if it was in a giant outdoor areana or something.

This fight is too big for a hotel IMO.

And yes, he does look very fat in my avatar but when he steps on the scales he'll be in awesome shape, as he always is.

Nah mate. They're going to sell it out in 5 mins apparantly.

Could've have made history with this one.

I'm guessing as with anything these days it's all about the money. Limited number of seats means they can charge what ever they want for them, and the thousands that would get cheaper seats in a huge venue will now have to pay $55.00 at least to see it at home.

You must be American. Hatton sells out 15,000 on his own versus your dad.

If this fight was in Wembley it sells out 80,000 no problem. Calzaghe and Kessler is going to do 70,000 and has already done 30,000. The Brits like it bigger now.

They will have these big fights with an American superstar at a Las Vegas casino because it brings in more money, but I would loved for this fight to be in one of those massive soccer stadiums.

Simple really the MGM pays the promotor to stage the fight. If the bout was at the Commonwealth Stadium in Manchester, the promotors would have to pay the owners to stage the bout...

    But of a no-brainer really.

And top of this the MGM does not really want a load Northerners showing up for the fight, hence the reason there will be limited tickets. Hatton fans are only going to spend a limited amount of the sort of money that MGM needs to justify the staging of the fight there. Ideally from the MGM point of view they only want big spending Hatton fans showing up.

I understand mate, I'm booked in the MGM Grand from the 5th to 10th December. I won't be spending a penny in the casino and I'll be after all the free booze and food I can get my hands on!!:D

Hell, if I was running the MGM I wouldn't want myself there either!!;)
