Could this bout ever happen? Theres been a lot of talk about Hatton/Pac even Diaz and Khan looks very big for lightweight. Although Hatton said he'd retire around 30 I also read he wants five more fights. In Three or four fights time Hatton could of attempted to unify light welter and Khan possibly had a title shot/outgrown Lightweight, leading to a mouthwatering domestic showdown.

Maybe a Witter Khan fight would be more realistic given Hatton's relations with Warren.

It might one day fall to Khan to act as gravedigger for an elderly and decrepit Ricky Hatton.

    You never know.

I dont know, it all depends on how Hatton does in the near future
Say he loses his next fight....I reckon he'd retire.

I believe Hatton will have retired before this fight would even be considered as a realistic possibility. I think they are both going down different 'roads'. Khan will look to fight for the WBO title some time in 2008 but even if he wins, I think Hatton will be a long way of his sights. He would probably take a few 'easy' defences first, then look to possibly unify before moving up. Hatton seems to be winding down his career and unfortunately, I think they will just miss each other. I think its a similar story for Witter as well.

Both fights would be intriguing, but Khan has a lot to do, to prove he is ready for either guy.

Can't see this fight taking place if I am honest

I reckon Hatton's career is slowly coming to an end and if Khan successfully was to move up I believe Ricky will be nearing the end by then.

I would of thought Warren would lead Khan down the WBO route but that might be a bit risky with Katsidis in wait. Talk of a Rees Hatton fight seems to of been put forward by warren on terms that would clearly not of been accepted by hatton. Ricky maybe keener to give a pay day to an untested Khan than Witter,

For the time being Hatton would eat Khan up. Khan still needs to develop experience with how to deal with in fighting, a hard 12 rounds etc

Each fighter matures differently. Khans going great but I still think he needs to be guided for a few more fights.

Maybe one day Hatton will be on the slide and Khan will be able to use his height, speed, footwork etc to befuddle him. For the time being though it is wishful thinking.

If it was to take place tomorrow, Hatton would blow him away. For Khan to beat Hatton, the chin has to improve 100%

By the time Khan is fighting at the top level, Hatton will be long gone.

Khan-Hatton in 2 years time would be simply THE biggest domestic matchup ever but I doubt it would ever happen. Hopefully Ricky will be a pundit by then.

I think it could happen. Khan is being postioned for a world title fight soon and he will get weak opposition when it comes so maybe by the end of the year he could be world champion with even a defense on his record. Next year late we could see Khan move up and fight Hatton who still good will be rich for the taking. I would pick Hatton for a win but it just depends on how fast they move Khan forward this year.

A bit harsh on hatton, why because he hasn't fought junior yet.

In theory it could happen, but not now when Ricky is at his prime and Khan is a still growing as a pro and still campaigning at lightweight.
