hattons has been facing fighters worse than ward all his career until he finally decided to step up against kostya tszyu.

hattons wins alright but i can tell you this, micky ward would be a much tougher fight than eammon maggee

The difference is that Hatton has a "Brawlers style" that is executed with alot of skill.

this is an ugly fight for both fighters, ricky would try to avoid wards body punches while clinching, ward wouldnt be effective any other way, boring fight HAtton by UD

Ward at his best was no where near as good a fighter as Castillo is at his worst....and look what happened there. Same for Kostya.

Very true.....Zab Judah doesn't say Ward was his toughest opponent for nothing...

Zab is friends with Ward, and he also beat Ward. Fighters tend to say
"so and so (fighter I beat) was my toughest opponent" and forget the guy who knocked him out or outclassed him.

despite ward being in some class fights, i think he is actaully on the level of maggee, in that he would be a very good european operator, or fringe level world titlist.

he is just talked up cause he fought in the states.

great fighter to watch tho, would have been a stonking fight.
    ;)

I agree, as long as Hatton doesn't fight him his brawling style, he wins.

this fight should have been made for hatton back in 2001.

unfortunately warren was happy with milking it for too long.

hatton by stoppage in this one i think.

ward was tough but u could get to him.

Ward was a great tough guy but Hatton is the real deal, Hatton would have too much talent for Micky. Hatton's footwork and hand speed would give Ward fits.
