He kept tight to Kostya & held to avoid getting caught sweet by one of the biggest hitters p4p at the time....Past his best or not the last thing a fighter looses is his puch especially a p4p like tszyu.......It was a tactic & it worked......!!!.........These Hatton threads are getting boring now , He will bring it to Floyd of that I have no doubt , Can he beat him ????.......Yes , WILL he beat him , dont know , FM is the most talented & natural "boxer" of our generation but if Hatton can get him into a messy brawl he has a v.good chance.........

lol..calm down....the article was on ESB and i wanted to see what everyone thinks..its a legitimate argument...if the thread was boring why post or read....its only for discussion...like the thousands of other threads on boxers. Anyways i dont think his stock is down i think its up if anything which is why he even got the fight. However, his assesment to me is on point....whether you like it or not.
Id say you need to watch a few more of his fights mate.........ALOT more to him than just holding , He adopts that tactic against fighters ,who for various reasons , could cause him problems if he lets them dance or move to freely , with Tzsyu it was to nulify his power shots with Mayweather it will be to TRY to stop the excellent movement & dangerous shots he will be prone to if he simply tries to "box" Floyd....
i think the article does present some valid points. both tszuyu and castillio were clearly past their prime when hatton fought them.
can't see how you can say they were clearly past their prime we can only assume. castillo is often a slow starter and got ko'd in 4 by a shot that would have stopped him just the same in his younger days. and koysta had showed nothing previously in previous fights e.g. blowing out mitchell in 3 that showed he was clearly past his prime. and the koysta that quit on his stool after 11 hard rounds didn't even show he was clearly past his prime in the hatton fight.
castillio had two very lacklustre fights @140 before fighting hatton while tszuyu already in his mid-30s was not exactly in his prime when he faced hatton.
Prior to both fights Hatton was rated an underdog by many and neither Kostya or Jose Luis were considered past their prime/shot fighters. Indeed Kostya was the betting favourite vs Hatton at the time, while the Castillo fight was a 'live'/pick em type of fight. And further some comments in response to the article mention Hatton was floored by Magee, with Hatton winning a close match, and the same poster said the Urango fight was close. Clearly these people just hear things, and repeat. Hatton dominated in both fights, suffered a flash knockdown (in rd 1 - his only kd) against Magee - and promptly beat him up against the ropes all night, and completely outclassed Urango but simply tired at the end and looked hurt at one point from a strong body shot (it's boxing it happens). Hatton is 28 and his carreer has taken off (his stock rising) since wins over Tackie, Stewart, Tzyu, Maussa, Collazo, Urango and Castillo. He looked bad v Collazo and questions were asked about his authenticity. He responded by stopping a big hearted former champ in Castillo with one of the body shots of the last 10 years. A man who had never previously been KO'd. Hatton has two more years at least in him, then his career may be on the slide. It certainly isn't at the moment.

He mauls. He doesn't hold to flagrantly survive, rest or spoil the fight. He does it to fight his fight and create the opportunities he wants. Funny... ...if Hopkins holds and hits or does illegal moves, he is a master. If Hatton does it, hes this and that.
Look...the guy hold, and he holds alot. I would say only about 40% of that holding is used in a mauling fashion to create opportunities! And Yeah he's become very boring, and up until the stoppage against Castillo is was like watching two turtle ****!!
