The reason for this fight was because it's easy money for both of them. People will talk about it because Sky will talk about it. Both camps are in a no-lose situation though (unless Audley pulls a giant rabbit out of the hat). If it makes more money than they thought, great news for their bank accounts. If it makes less than they expect, they move on and Haye can have more 'rest' before he either challenges the proper champion in the division or defends his alphabelt in Manchester again.
It might do, but only for about five minutes unless Audley wins. Then the world goes back to not giving a **** about boxing.:roll:
I've got the whole football team coming over to watch it. 2 hardcore boxing fans and the rest just casuals. I don't really care if it isn't a classic but it is be an 'occasion' fight nonetheless which is generating interest. Can't wait for the walk-ins.
It's got the people at my work place talking about it too. It's funny, because all the casual fans I've spoken to, want Audley to get smashed. Yet the real boxing fans who know what's going on, are yearning for an Audley win.

Because of Haye's antics since entering the heavyweight scene. The Audley fight is purely for business, and to claw as much as possible for very little effort. After all the false promises he's made, losing to a poxy Audley Harrison would be pretty amusing.

I think this has captured the publics imagination even if its slightly criminal that Rendall Munroe will fight on normal sky sports on a Sunday and will probably get about a 10th of their audience and a 50th of their purse Anyhow yes my mum knows about this fight and was actually asking reasonable questions about Audleys eligibility for a title shot So it has definitely captured the publics imagination

In fairness to the guy who posted that, I don't think he meant that. He just said that from who he knows, casual fans seem to want Haye to win whereas plenty of knowledgable boxing fans would love Audley to win. I can't say I'm too bothered either way. The fight doesn't interest me much, all hype aside, in reality, it's a British title fight at best. But Haye is a genuine contender to Wladimir Klitschko's heavyweight championship and it's the fight I wanna see most in boxing right now (even more than Pacquiao-Mayweather). On the other hand, for Haye's inactivity and backtracking on his promise for the division, I'd also quite like to see Audley do the unimaginable and win but can't see it. Plus Audley does make me laugh and has for a while, if only for his delusional 'destiny' talks.
Fair enough mate i see what your saying, i would cosider myself as a fairly knowledgable boxing fan but i still want Haye to win, thats only becoz i have followed him since amatures and i know he has made some **** ups in the past with referance to the klit bros, but that time will come i promise you and it will be next year. Haye will KO audley then KO one of the Klits! G
I think this fight is the biggest fight a brit fighter has been in for publicity since Hatton v Mayweather. Theres a massive poster on the side of one the busiest pubs in my city (Edinburgh) saying there showing it, which i have never seen b4. Even tho is a pointless fight legacy fight it may just make Haye a couple extra million when/if he fights a Klischko.
