Haye vs Klitschko

Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by LeonardEllerbe, Jun 17, 2011.

  1. Hi guys what is your opinion on hows this fight will go?

I'm still really sat on the fence with this as i feel Haye is still an unknown quantity at heavyweight.

I feel he will box simalar to the Valuev fight moving then occasionaly come in and let a few punches go. I believe he will let more punches go then in the valuev fight though.

I guess The big question is how will there chins hold up and who hits harder.

When Wladimir beats David Haye by stoppage, it will be the best victory in the heavyweight division in the last 8 years...and it will be the icing on the cake for Wladimir's dominating title reign over the last 6 years....this victory will propel Wlad into the top 12-15 heavyweights of all time.

Wlad will score his most impressive and significant victory...a signature victory...over Haye..a knockout in 9, and he'll control the bout all the way.

Haye is talented, but it's too much of a step up. You can't go from Ruiz to Harrison to Klitschko. Too much of a step up, people say Wlad is chinny but Haye got dropped by a SMW and a hard-hitting B level cruiserweight. Haye is in for a big shock and might have a few good moments early on, but Klitschko will grind him down and I predict he'll finish it with one big right hand in the middle rounds. :rasta

You have the answer in your post. Who is the proven heavyweight?

Noone here has a crystal ball, Haye might win, but i am looking forward to an extended career ending beat down of David Haye, eho talks so much yet delivers so little.

I wouldn't say Haye has no shot at all, because he's too explosive a puncher and Wladimir is susceptible to being stunned and finished.

But his window of oppertunity is very small. He can't live with Wlad for five rounds and be effective.

    Wlad will win, by TKO.

Haye needs to do a bumrush like a Prime Tua And swing for a KO at teh start. Haye is a v.untested athletic talent @Heavy, but he has a canny good punch And moderately fast hands, so a good puncher's chance he has.

I'm pretty much 50/50 on this one. I'd like Haye to do it. His superior speed could swing it.

Haye has the tools, but to win, he'd need to not be Haye.

When has he EVER bumrushed a guy early? Harrison in the 3rd round is close, but the guy wasn't offering anything back. David Haye is a methodical slugger, who likes to pick his spots and unload on his terms.

There is not a worse style for dealing with Wlad, who is pretty fast himself, hits even harder, is longer, taller, bigger, and stronger.

Haye's best opportunity to win is to do something he's never done. That isn't to say he can't-Most fighters have the ability to up their aggressive and go for the early knockout- But if its not his modus operandi, than in a title fight my money will be on the other guy.

I agree with this. Haye has a puncher's chance here, but his lack of defense, timid approach, and fragile chin will be his undoing. Wlad KO in 3.

Wlad is a big favourite and rightly so, he is the proven heavy and while not good to watch, he is ultra effective at what he does. He will fight this fight like he would any other (why wouldn't he), safety first with little variety. I do think Haye as rattled him a bit in the build up though, so this could make Wlad come out of his shell for the first time and could prove disastrous for the Ukrainian.
Haye for me doesn't lack confidence and i do think he has a winners mentality. He stays outside range waiting for an opening, constantly feinting and keeping his opponents mind working (which can be tiring for his foe), then he closes the range quickly with explosive quick punches. A fault with him is that he gets too close and smothers his work when he hurts his man, which could prove decisive against a grabber like Wladimir and could make him miss big opportunities in the fight that will cost him dear.
I think Haye as a great chance early, but he as got to land something big asap to give Wlad the jitters. Once and if Wlad settles into a rhythm and finds his range with the jab, then you can only see it going one way. I don't see it going past 6 and i think Wlad will be the victor, but Haye is a danger to him for every second he is in the fight.

I keep going back and forth.

Who knows? Haye hasn't faced anyone near the quality of Wlad, while Wlad hasn't faced anyone with the combined speed and power of Haye. Both guys are proven champions. I'm just looking forward to the fight.
