Now David is the heavyweight champion of the world will Hayemaker get a TV deal from Sky now? I hope so although he has lost some of his stars he still has Ryan Rhodes, Martin Lindsay, Tony Dodson and Michael Grant who are or can fight for top domestic honours. Simply put there is enough there to make decent cards every month or 2. I hope we get to see a stacked PPV for Haye-Ruiz in a dream world my card woud involve Ryan Rhodes in a European title defense, Martin Lindsay in a British Title defense against John Simpson and Tony Dodson in a Title Eliminator against Matthew Thirlwall and/or George Groves in a 8 rounder.
It would be nice to see the Hayemaker fighters back on tv. If this fight for Haye was a 1 off with Sky who knows what way he will go. A world champion now he has a great hand to bring to the table to tv stations. I think he will try and get the best deal out there for him and Hayemaker fighters. I wouldn't be surprised if he has a couple of deals on the table by the end of next week.
He only has Groves left doesn't he? Which fighters are still with Hayemaker? EDIT: Didn't realise Rhodes and Lindsay are still with Haye
Groves is promoted by Maloney but still managed by Haye. Also Rhodes said before the Moore fight he would leave if he won and they didn't get him a world title shot.
With Matchroom, Warren, Hatton and Maloney, there's probably not enough room for another promoter We can all dream, but now that Haye has the title, maybe the BBC executives might just sit up and take notice. We all know how much that boxing has been spoken about in the past few weeks by non boxing fans and has been all over the press and TV. Haye has been all over tv on chat shows and news clips. He speaks well, looks good and is very likeable to the general public. This is the best chance currently to get boxing back on terrestrial TV. Just imagine the viewers that would have tuned in to this if it had been on the BBC. Hayemaker Promotions on the BBC, supplemented maybe by Calzaghe and Henessey....... I live in hope.
And just imagine if four fights later he gets smashed by a Klit. Great idea, but I would be warey of the BBC, they don't seem to care much for boxing at all anymore.
Get on to the BBC Trust thing. The ad they keep playing about what you think of the BBC stations and what you want done to it. Boxing and Haye could well be done on the BBC the reason being heavyweight boxing dont get the ratings in the US and the fights can be on Prime time in the UK if they want. Money talks it would be huge if the BBC took the rights but I cant see it for the life of me.
