I disagree. Bradley did some good work in some of the later rounds and they barely acknowledged a single bit of it. Guy was landing clean shots more and more as the fight progressed and Lampley and Steward basically ignored it. The more he landed, the less they spoke.
#1....HBO were cheerleaders for Tim going in to the fight. All they were doing was pumping up TIM and how he was the toughest fight for PAC...how he wasn't DLH, Cotto, Marg or Josh.....how he was undefeated and a "hard" fighter. Listen to how they were talking about PAC....he was older, looked slower.....was on the slide...Not focused....questioning his dedication....bashing him for watching the finals rather than warming up, gloving up and getting to the ring. Even in the first few rounds the HBO crew was REALLY trying to pump Brad up even though he was getting dominated from the very beginning. Some might give Tim the first round because of the HBO staff hyping him up when he did absolutley nothing but pop out the jab, throw some rights and miss his mark.... OH... and eat straight lefts that only proved he had a good beard.
By round 3 they had already dismissed his power several times, and talked up Manny's. I would hardly calling that hyping him up? I've got the fight downloaded on my laptop here, if you like i'll tell you how many times they dismiss him as feather fisted in the first 3 rounds? My guess is probably 6-7 times.
Dude.....Tim didn't do **** in the later rounds....he landed some nice jabs...threw some wild shots and neglected the body. If anything Tim showed he had fast feet moving away from PAC more than normal. The jab...and only the jab was Tim's most effective weapon. Seriously...look at the fight again. That jab scored some points but also kept enough space between him and PAC to stay out of harms way. Tim moving away....throwing the Jab and occasional right or left hook were more "prayers" that PAC would "run in to it" which never came true for Tim. The fight wasn't close at all kid. I'm being honest with you. Hell....even Floyd Sr. said those judges were blind and needed to find other lines of work... That's ****ing Floyd Jr.'s Daddy.....in case you didn't catch that they shared the same name.....DLH said it was a true robbery...Bob even said it was a robbery and he's they guy who made orchestrated the whole thing. I'm just saying.......There's no possible way that anyone with at least one good eye and the mental capacity of a border line ****** would see this fight for Tim.:rofl
As i've said earlier, I'm not implying Tim won the fight, I scored it for Pacquiao. I don't think anyone in this thread has said they thought Tim won? that's not the argument. We'll have to agree to disagree on the commentators.
My point exactly.....by Round three the HBO crew were watching the fight and unable to give Bradley Kudos for taking a beating. Tim didn't land **** noteworthy in the entire fight...I mean NOTHING. Oh...he did have a nice combo to the body in round 4 or 5 that I noticed and I do remember on straight right that kind of split the guard of PAC in Round 3....but other than that it was jabbing and running....turning, pivoting and more jabs. By the later rounds it was more of a foot race where PAC was chasing to close regain control of distance and Tim doing all he could to keep distance. Landing the occasional jab. Tim wasn't even lading at a decent connect percentage. Tim didn't out work, fight or think PAC on Saturday. Had Tim been outworked, but landed more accurately then MAYBE he might have had a case....like JMM did in the rubber match...and if Tim made some rounds competitive....but he didn't.
Watch the last 3 rounds again, he was getting off more than, or at least as much as Pacquiao. Even Manny Pacquiao's number 1 fan Jim Lampley admitted after the fight that pretty much everyone ringside had scored the last 3 rounds for Bradley. What did they score those rounds for? him hitting thin air? obviously he was doing some good work in there.
That's cool you didn't score the fight for PAC....but the fight was not close. Let's say the roles were completely reversed...Lets say HBO was all on PAC's jimmie going into the fight like they typically are....and lets say Tim put on the performance PAC did.....Where Tim landed more...was more accurate and hurt PAC on a few occasions...only to lose the fight on a SD? Would you say that PAC won a close fight?:think
What are you talking about? I've said numerous times i scored it for Pacquiao, I don't know how you have missed that.
The last 3 rounds produced the LEAST action and it also was the rounds where Tim avoided any resemblance of risk. Watch the last 3 rounds again....turn the sound off if you'd like. But watch how Tim kept the Jab in play to keep PAC busy enough to avoid any exchanges. What Tim was doing was trying to out point PAC with the Jab....he wasn't winning those rounds...he was trying to steal them.
Knuckle Up99 - I think you need to need to back and read my original post. I haven't tried to argue Bradley won, nor has anyone else. All i've said (as have many others) is that the HBO commentators were disgustingly biased towards Pacquiao (I made my points as to why in the original posts) You are trying to turn this into a debate of who won the fight, and that's not what we're talking about.
hbo team only do that **** when pacman fights. jim lampley starts the **** first like always.i have to watch uk versions sometimes when it gets real bad.thing i hate most is when jim acts like a punch is landed when its not. there's another and another oh and one more to punctuate the round.**** off jim you cant tell a landed punch from a miss.
I saw that....promise... but I found your post implying that the fight wasn't a robbery and it was. That's like when Rios got the nod over abril.....Lennox was robbed of a win over Holy or Burton getting the nod over Augusta. Anyone who tried to say those were "close fights" had me baffled. I just can't find a way to justify any robberies.....Close competitive fights where it's really subjective based on if you are a fan of pressure...or a fan of more accurate work can change the perception of the fight I understand....but when some on is dominated on all fronts and somehow...someway they judges give it away to the obvious loser...That I have a problem with.
