I'm the same way. But my sparring sessions have been known to escalate to near-fight intensity, and I'm not much good at defense, so maybe your problem lies in your skills? I always tell myself that once I get good at this sort of thing I won't have the headaches anymore :)

typically that means you had a concussion at some point, and you are still feeling the symptoms.

Yeah, its more than likely a concussion.

If you're getting those even semi regularly you need to make some changes to your defence.

Getting bumped around like that is just going to damage your brain in the long term.

Take a break. You been concussed and the brain requires some time to heal, as receiving more hits closely following some degree of trauma is a bad idea, as it is far more susceptible then to further, and lingering damage.

  6. so how long after getting a headache should i have off sparring a week ?

After getting headaches for days after sparring, I've started to use more counterpunching. Even though I'm not the quickest, I still end up getting hit much less than before. Plus I end up conserving more energy compared to just brawling against people.

It was awkward, about a week ago I barely got hit in the head and I had a headache for two days. Last night I got rocked by a guy 70 lbs heavier than me while we were working on drills, and my head is clear as anything today.

Neck bridges. Go from knees first if your neck is not strong enough.
