Jones trained behind my back garden for that fight

Jones was past in then - on the downward slide

he was not living the life anymore

Curry was a superior techincal fighter to Jones no question

But the longer the fight goes on Jones comes more into his own

If the fight had gone past the fourth there was a growing chance Curry would have walked onto something tasty - and he would have been Knocked out with that glass chin of his

    As promised...

    Part One

    Part Two

Buddy shows some pretty good speed here, but man, check out the heart on Frankie Warren. Guy was a little beast. Poor man's Henry Armstrong (very poor, but still a good fighter).

Outwith the McCrory fight I like the Jones fight the best because it lasts longer. Probably Curry's best showing IMO.

The Elio Diaz fight is my favourite Curry fight.

Quartey was a Welterweight Frank Bruno.

Jones was the reincarnation of Jimmy Wilde.

As well, i actually have a lot of time for his second win over Starling. Starling was right on top of his game and Curry won a competitive but solid decision win. I rate Starling very highly.

Yeah, Starling Curry 2 is a top-notch Welterweight fight,

Compare it to thuddingly flat-footed "you punch..then i punch" hackwork like quartey vs Oscar and it's really quite comical.

I have the ESPN superbouts version. Watched some the early rounds earlier this week. Very competitive and great defensive covering up by both fighters. Jones was a very good welterweight, probably on the Sibson level for Hagler.
