Another interesting case was the first fight between Jack Sharkey and Max Schmeling. After an even opening round, Sharkey won the second and third rounds and appeared to be on his way to taking the fourth as well. However, he accidentally landed a low blow, and Schmeling was awarded the victory by disqualification, becoming the heavyweight world champion.
