I was in a waiting room without a book today, so I wrote some heavyweight limericks, focusing on the 1970's. Hope you like them

There once was a Norton named Ken
    whose style confounded some men
    He beat up the boxers
    and whipped the out-foxers,
though when clocked would often hear '10'

There once was a boxer named Young
Who couldn't get very much done
    He'd spoil and he'd poke
stuck his head through the ropes
and by judges was typically shunned

There once was a bomber named Shavers
whom the judges granted few favors
    In Tomato Can Land
    he tried every brand
    dicing the many fine flavors...

There once was a monster named Foreman
who threw heavy hooks from the floor, man
    And when they'd connect
    he'd shatter your neck
the head flying way out the door, man

There once was a brawler named Joe
    Who could only go toe-to-toe
    In ol' MSG
    He pummeled Ali
But toppled from George's first blow...

There once was a gap-toothed brawler
    a drunken and manic mauler
    If you need an opponent
    for a historical moment
give ol' Leon Spinks a loud holler....

There once was a champ named Ali
Who ranted to all he would see
    "I am the best
    But I have one request:
Keep Smokin's left hook off of me..."

There once was a puncher named Lyle
whom Young was known to beguile
    Ron would throw bombs
    and Jimmy'd be gone
behind a stiff jab and a smile...

There once was a sleuth named Holmes
Carl the Truth slapped 'round his bones
    Like Agatha Christie
    it was such a mystery
how the champ took the title back home...
