ok, so i'm going to fight at my gym. im 44.5 KG and 5 foot 4, [yes, you can call me little paddy]. i am offensive minded, a banger, clumsy footwork, but hard to hit.

so, my power would work better if i weighed 48 KG my trainer says. the power wont bother me as my guard is really tight.

should i put on the weight, becoming a small target to hit for bigger opponents, adding power to my shots, or keep my weight as a busy, little counter-slugger.?

He's only 5'4", so it's not that light considering his height. Why not stay at the weight you are at?

Even at that height... under 100 pounds! I know you are right going up in weight class if you're comfortable at the weight is illogical, it just amazed me how light he is.

Yeah that's very light. I'm an inch taller but weight 10kg more and I'm a lot lighter than I usually am at the moment.

I'm 5" taller (perhaps closer to 4" even) and outweigh him by 45 pounds.

I do. i have decided to put on the weight, fighting bigger men, but using my defence and power. i will not reveal my full record but i will say i have won somewhere inbetween 25-37 fights, and lost about 5-10

My kid is the same height his weight is 145, Honestly I dont feel its a disadvantage to us at all, I feel we have turned that into an advantage honestly, its hard to fight a shorter man you have to find him, and usally by the time you find him he has already found you, simply because the taller man has to reach for him I always tell me kid to stay all the way out of range or all the way inside but keep them knees bent, this shortens his height even more making the other man have to figure out the range needed and in an amateur fight usally there isnt enough time.
