    agree with all that...

i used to follow all his early fights on a uk satellitte station called screensport {which had great boxing} and remember telling anyone who would listen 'he's light for a heavy but he is awesome...he'll be a heavyweight champ for sure'

now...the bowe fight...hide showed me guts more than anything in that fight...cause like you say above, to keep getting knocked down shows you keep getting up...and that was riddick bowe!!

i think he may have wasted his prime years not fighting at all...and my main concern for him now is being 36 years old...and he's a fighter that relied on mobility and sharpness and thats what age affects most...

would love to see him in an all brit title fight with enzo...maybe wbo title...if he doesnt get that wbc shot..

being 36 is a major factor though..i think..

He could win a cruiserweight title and it'd be a big accomplishent for him at his age.

Not sure how he hasn't gotten a title shot by now. I'm guessing that his promoter doesn't have the influence among the sanctioning bodies. You'd have figured that his wins at cruiserweight, his last few in particular, would have garnered him a shot by now.

I remembder when Vitali knocked Hide out in the second round, London. Vitali was a huge underdog.

I remember reading that too!! In some boxing mag a few years ago...cant remember which mag it was.

I wonder if there's any similarities between Haye and Hide? Both big hitters with suspect chins.

I have only one major issue with Herbie right now, It isn't his age or his chin, I saw him a lot in Vegas , when he was living there for a while and he always wanted really hard sparring , having major personal gym wars with Yanqui Diaz etc.. I heard from very solid sources that Hide had a big Drug habit that fizzled away a lot of his cash... I spoke to him breifly in a Las Vegas Gym 2 years ago and he did look very undernourished and dishevelled.. The misuse of such things don't go away that easily.. I hope they dont haunt him into the ring.. But i was very sad to see him at the time look so hard up.. A friend of mine got him a fairly easy fight at a local casino for around $10.000 , against a beatable guy only a walk from his home... He said yes at first , then returned and asked for a cash advance , then he re returned and asked for a further hundred or two until he outpriced himself, we ended up giving the fight to someone else who won easily and Herbie missed out because of his greedy stubborn nature.. I hope he has got past those issues now because i thing when he is on his A Game he can be great...
